5…4…3….2……1 and Go!

Say above with a loud voice. If possible, shout it.

Shout it again…..…

5….4….3….2…1 and Go.!

Thinking logic?

No logic, please. Just do it…

Let us shout it again with full-body movement……

5…4….3…2…1….and Go!!!

You may wonder, what’s it all about

It’s the fastest way to overcome procrastination!!

When you do something repeatedly, your brain wire and fire the same neurons again and again and over time,  the Act will become second nature to you.

When you say this 5…4…3..2…1  with a “GO” sound with a sudden body movement, you are giving a stimulus to your brain and when you repeat it with a jump and shout, you are creating a strong emotion in you.

You may be knowing, Any information combined with emotion goes to permanent memory!  Thanks to our brain,s   Neuroplasticity.

Neuroplasticity??

Neuroplasticity is the brain,s ability to change in response to repeated stimuli.

To make the above crazy act immersed into you on a 24/7 basis so as to overcome procrastination in the fastest way, you must clear your concept hundred percent about Neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity or brain plasticity refers to the brain’s ability to CHANGE throughout life.

Throughout life?

Yes. That,s pretty good news. Right?

The human brain has the amazing ability to reorganize itself by forming new connections between brain cells (neurons).

In addition to genetic factors, the environment in which a person lives, as well as the actions of each person, play a significant role in Neuroplasticity.

Generally, Neuroplasticity occurs in the brain on 3 –phases…

1- At the beginning of life: when the immature brain organizes itself.

2- In the case of brain injury: to compensate for lost functions or maximize remaining functions.

3- Through adulthood: whenever something new is learned and memorized

Mind it. Brain changes take place in adulthood also when something new is learned. Now, make your attention span too specific about that shout statement: 5…4…3…2…1…Go!

That means you are asked to learn this statement with emotion to make Neuro Plasticity take place inside your brain!

And voila!

For a long time, it was believed that as we aged, the connections in the brain became fixed, and then simply faded. Research has shown that in fact the brain never stops changing through learning. Plasticity is the capacity of the brain to change with learning.

So, keep learning and doing the crazy act…5..4..3..2..1 and Go!

You will find yourself, you are overcoming your procrastination in the fastest way! You can’t even imagine. It,s so easy and fast to beat procrastination!!

The good news is, as per neuroscientist, neuroplasticity takes place at any age till we die!

As this 5…4…3..2..1 ..and Go is related to procrastination, let us know what’s this Procrastination is!

As per the Cambridge dictionary, Procrastination is the act of delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring. Mind it, its act of delaying something that must be done which is generally boring or unpleasant like waking up in the morning or do exercises.

Now, Be honest and ask yourself..at point of time…do you have these symptoms. I think, most of us have.

The research finding is: all of us suffer from procrastination during different phases of our life and its too challenging to beat it.

But with this simple rule of saying…5…4…3…2…1  and Go, we can easily beat procrastination. Because, counting down from 5 seconds to 1 second will help you focus on goal or commitment and distract you from worries, fears, and thoughts and as soon as you reach 1 and after 1, nowhere to go, it prompts you to move, to take action.

The concept comes from NASA rocket launching with count down from 5 seconds.

As per as procrastination is concerned, there is a window for everyone between the moment you have an instinct to change and your mind kills that instinct. While your mind starts working against you in nanoseconds, the barrages of thoughts and excuses don’t seem to kick into full force and stop you for a few seconds.

Therefore, The moment you have an instinct to act on a goal you must act on it immediately by pushing yourself up from the very position where you are at that point in time.

Because research says, change your physiology change your state of mind!

Otherwise…. your brain will start leaning towards procrastination. Why do you know?

Because the larger you wait between your initial impulse to act and physically moving, the louder that the excuses get and harder it becomes to force yourself to move, That,s why, you will find lots of people thinks and try to stop smoking, start doing Gym or wake up early in the morning but fails.

In her book, “The five-second rule”, Mel Robbins, an American on-air CNN commentator, television host, author, and motivational speaker beautifully described how you can beat procrastination using this rule.

“This 5…4…3…2..1..& Go ” rule whole credit goes to Author Mel Robbins only. If you have not read this book till now, you must grab a copy here and read it. Its life changing!!

In case you’re rolling your eyes at the simplicity of this rule, there’s some solid scientific reasoning behind it:

No-brainer decisions, like jumping in a pool to rescue a drowning child, are driven by a very fast-thinking part of the brain (known as the prefrontal cortex). When you jump in to save a theoretical child in need, you’re driven by that emotional part of your brain — and you don’t spend time analyzing how deep the water is, what is the best approach to rescue, etc.

Most tasks, however, utilize rational parts of our brain.

Rational brain

Unfortunately, these are the same parts of our minds that helped us avoid danger in primitive times. As a result, we approach an Excel spreadsheet the same way we foraged for food as cavemen — by looking at all the possible dangers behind it, and constantly analyzing the best approach. It’s a slow and inefficient process that causes procrastination,

The most important key is..to end the indecision cycle, you have to aware of brain parts and you have to activate proper parts of your brain!

Emotionally speaking, I know, that first action may hurt because let us admit it, as the procrastination definition says, it’s something that you don’t want to do or have been avoiding because of that habits gets conditioned into the brain.

Remind yourself that with every great accomplishment, there should be sacrifice and hard work involved.

Make an affirmation that you will never have a taste of success if you have not experienced leaving your comfort zone. After overcoming the hard part, the rewards are greater.

As explained, though it,s a challenge to beat procrastination out of your system immediately, you can start by conditioning your mind into focusing on what is important and knowing that you can do it during the 5-second window.

Pay attention to what  American author, philanthropist, and life coach  Tony Robbins say “The path to success is to take massive, determined action.

By utilizing this simple technique of the five-second rule, We could push ourselves from the very comfort zone at that particular point of time and this way, we can overcome procrastination in the fastest way.

Now, coming back to the conditioning of my mind to have a keep fit body, every morning, just after waking up, I use to tell myself..5..4..3..2..1 and Go.

With this loud  Go, I push my self from the cozy bed, from the comfort of my twilight state, and start activating myself for the morning work out.

Result? Here I am. My health, my fitness is at Acme.  I can compete for any race to any youngsters.

Rise of Alam Mir
